Artist's Description
This piece was created my senior year of college in 2005. It was painted on a black gesso canvas. At the time I was intrigued by and resonating strongly with action painting theory - having no preconceived ideas of what my painting would look like, but enjoying the exploration of painting itself. As with many of my works, thin layers and brushwork play were employed. The large dimensions demanded more movement physically and an energetic expression of my material body, as a vessel of something I was trying to channel through my subconscious.
This piece may be shown "landscape" or "portrait." I rotated it frequently when painting to consider all angles.

Born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho. Graduated from University of Oregon with a B.A. degree in Art in 2007. Elements of the divine, Nature, deep ecology, imagination and humor influence my work.
