Artist's Description
Inspired by a particularly vivid red color in a dream and theories of action painting and abstract expressionism during my senior year in advanced painting class - having no preconceived ideas of where a painting would go, just going with the expression and the journey of where painting took me. Elements of a storm, water, preservation of aquatic fish species and the lake where I am from, the battle of darkness in the element of a cloudy storm against the powerful color of red that came in my dream as an intense power. This piece was also la study of various shades of red and pigment quality of paint, layering and building the energetic story of the painting.
