Artist's Description
This piece was created in 2009, after my return from New Zealand to my home of Sandpoint, Idaho. I was heavily influenced by landscape painting from NZ. I had always longed to paint landscape, though it was not considered "contemporary" enough in my art education at university, I strove to express my reverie for Nature and my connection with place and land. Conceptually, deep ecology and ecofeminism fed my desire to express that which I hold most sacred, and try to capture the awe I see and feel in Nature and place, time and moment, through the movement and expression of paint.

Born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho. Graduated from University of Oregon with a B.A. degree in Art in 2007. Elements of the divine, Nature, deep ecology, imagination and humor influence my work.
