This piece represents an experience in time and place that was literal, metaphorical, elemental, psychological, and deeply spiritual for me. The theory of the black swan in conjunction with viewing black swans for the first time were very powerful for me, especially given the circumstances. I painted this piece from memory years later, seeing as it stuck in my memory so vividly and I saw more clearly in hindsight.
Born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho. Graduated from University of Oregon with a B.A. degree in Art in 2007. Elements of the divine, Nature, deep ecology, imagination and humor influence my work.
